huawei P20 Pro honest review on one of the best flagships of 2018.
Honestly, Huawei phones have been getting better in general.
Unfortunately not for sale in the USA.
Design wise I love the color and it looks good does have some flaws but its one of the really unique looking phones out there.
The color twilight is a very nice color and it shifts to different colors at different angles.
Though in my opinion, the phone would look much better with less text on the back.
You get your power button and volume rocker on the same side.
The body is prime and what you’d expect from a high-end 2018 flagship smartphone.
It’s IP68 water resistant which is always nice.
Not to thin and it feels solid in the hand and nice weight.
The cool feature is that it still has the IR Blaster which not very phone does have now.
It does not have expandable storage and no headphone jack.
One thing I have noticed is that it does rock on the table due to the camera sticking out a bit too much.
The fingerprint reader on the front is really fast and I think the fastest on the market.
On the phone, you get a nice 6.1″ OLED Display.
- 1080 x 2240 pixels, 18.7:9 ratio (~408 ppi density)
The display does great in the daylight outdoors and no shifting problems.
Though not bright like Samsung phone or as vibrant but its very good for 2018.
The phone also rocks a 4000mAh battery and its not a thick phone which is fantastic.
- Kirin 970 Chip
- 6GB RAM
- Android 8.1
The chip is okay even though we got better things like Qualcomm but its still good.
The Huawei P20 Pro has 3 cameras on the back.
The primary camera is:
- 40 MP (f/1.8, 27mm, 1/1.7″) + 20 MP B/W (f/1.6, 27mm) + 8 MP (f/2.4, 80mm), OIS, Leica optics, 3x optical zoom, phase detection and laser autofocus, LED flash
- 24 MP (f/1.8, 27mm, 1/1.7″) + 20 MP B/W (f/1.6, 27mm) + 8 MP (f/2.4, 80mm), OIS, Leica optics, 3x optical zoom, phase detection and laser autofocus, LED flash
The sensor on this phone is massive and an inch bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S9 or iPhone X.
The main camera uses a bear structure when taking photos which means its a 40MP sensor but its outputting data binned in 2×2 blocks of pixels.
What this means is that you’re getting an output image of 10MP.
The video mode is not that great because of the chip it’s using it cannot stabilize the 4k video so great.
Overal a good phone and speedy.
